Cybersecurity Act of 2012

Status: The Cybersecurity Act of 2012 was introduced February 14, 2012 by Sen. Joseph Lieberman (I-CT). It was reported to the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affaires  committee where it died.

In a Library of Congress summary the bill would have directed “…the Secretary of Homeland kSecurity (DHS), in consultation with owners and operations of critical infrastructure, the Critical Infrastructure Partnership Advisory Council and other federal agencies and private sector entities to:” assess cybersecurity risks, and “implements cyber response and restoration plans.” (, LOC Summary)
